Overview
Scientific Informer Launch Control is a space mission tracking site operated as a personal project. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how it is used.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. This helps us improve the experience over time. Analytics are only loaded if you consent via the cookie banner on your first visit.
Google Analytics collects information such as:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Approximate geographic location (country/region level — IP addresses are anonymised before storage)
- Browser type and operating system
- Referring website
We do not collect any personally identifiable information. IP anonymisation (anonymize_ip) is enabled. Data is processed by Google Ireland Limited under their Privacy Policy.
Cookies
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
| Cookie | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_gid | Distinguishes unique visitors | 24 hours |
We also store your cookie preference in localStorage under the key analytics_consent. This is not a cookie and contains only granted or denied.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectify, or erase your data. Because we collect no personally identifiable information directly, we cannot identify or retrieve data linked to you individually. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time by clearing your analytics_consent key from localStorage or by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party data sources
Launch data is sourced from the SpaceDevs Launch Library, news from Spaceflight News API, and weather data from Open-Meteo. These are read-only public APIs. No data is sent to them about you.

This policy may be updated occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
